Low Temperature Thermoplastic Splint
Description
Low-temperature thermoplastic board is a specially synthesized polymer material (Polycaprolactone PCL) modified as a raw material. It is often used in low-temperature rehabilitation projects. It can be softened in a temperature environment of 65-70°C and can be arbitrarily formed. Fixing material has the characteristics of light weight, high strength, good breathability, not afraid of water, transparent to X-rays, non-toxic, tasteless, non-irritating to the skin, etc. It has biodegradability and is a new environmentally friendly medical fixing material. It is mainly divided into P board and K board.
P Board Series
- Good memory performance, can be adjusted at any time according to the condition of the disease
- High conformability and better limb fixation
- Light weight and high strength
- Mesh design with good breathability
- Biodegradable, environmentally friendly and safe
K Board Series
- High fixation and support strength
- Mesh design with good breathability
- Brace design suitable for large parts, trunk and other demanding requirements
- Biodegradable, environmentally friendly and safe
Unilong’s splint thermoplastic is widely used in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and physiotherapy clinics for both upper and lower limb support, as well as custom thermoplastic finger splints.

Unilong’s low temperature thermoplastic splint is suitable for a variety of medical and rehabilitation uses:
1. Orthopedic Immobilization
Used for immobilizing fractures and soft tissue injuries in the wrist, ankle, and fingers. The thermoplastic splint material conforms precisely to the patient’s body, offering customized immobilization and reducing pressure points.
2. Thermoplastic Finger Splint
Our thermoplastic finger splints provide lightweight and secure support for finger injuries such as tendon repairs, ligament damage, or joint dislocation. They are easy to form and adjust, ensuring patient comfort during recovery.
3. Rehabilitation and Support Devices
The PCL thermoplastic sheet can be molded into various orthopedic aids and rehabilitation supports, including wrist braces, resting hand splints, and foot drop supports.
4. Pediatric and Geriatric Applications
Because of its low temperature activation, this splint thermoplastic is safe for use with sensitive skin, making it ideal for pediatric and elderly patients.

1. Strong plasticity: It can be completely transparent and softened by being placed in hot water at 60-70 ℃, and can be easily stretched and shaped appropriately. The operation is simple and fast. Safe and comfortable for direct skin contact.
2. Easy to remove: When the low-temperature thermoplastic board needs to be removed after use, ordinary scissors can be used to cut it open, and the operation is very simple.
3. Environmentally friendly materials: After being discarded and buried in the soil, they can biodegrade on their own after 8 to 12 months.
Unilong uses polycaprolactone (PCL), a biodegradable and skin-friendly polymer, to produce superior thermoplastic splint materials. Its key benefits include:
- Consistent softening behavior at safe temperatures
- Excellent strength and dimensional stability
- Smooth molding with strong adhesion between layers
- Full reusability without performance loss
- Environmentally sustainable and recyclable material
These properties make PCL thermoplastic splints not only safer for patients but also more efficient for hospitals and therapy centers.
