6-Caprolactone is a colorless oily liquid at normal temperature and pressure, with a special aroma of ester. Its molecule contains a five-membered lactone ring and an alkyl side chain. Because the carbonyl group and epoxy group on the lactone ring fix the structure of the molecule, the molecule of 6-caprolactone shows strong stability and inertness. At the same time, the presence of alkyl side chains makes 6-caprolactone have better solubility and compatibility in solvents. Since the molecule of 6-caprolactone contains a carbonyl group, it has certain reactivity and can undergo various chemical reactions such as esterification, addition, and nucleophilic substitution.

It should not be in contact with inorganic acids, organic acids, alkalis, acidic and basic salts, water and water vapor during storage, nor should it be close to copper and zinc. Nitrogen gas is required for storage, and a small amount of nitrite stabilizer is added.
In perfect packaging, it was not delivered until shortly before use. At all times, storage areas should be covered and protected from above ambient temperature.
