Polyvinylpyrrolidone K12 (PVP K12), also known as Povidone K12, is a low molecular weight, water-soluble polymer made from the monomer N-vinylpyrrolidone.
With excellent solubility, adhesion, and film-forming properties, PVP K12 is widely used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, coatings, detergents, and adhesives. It is one of the most versatile grades among the PVP series, providing low viscosity and excellent compatibility in various formulations.
PVP K12 is a powder with CAS 9003-39-8, odorless or slightly characteristic odor. It is easily soluble in water, alcohol, amines and halogenated hydrocarbons, but insoluble in acetone, ether, etc. It has excellent solubility, biocompatibility, physiological inertness, film-forming properties.
