Description
Hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD) is a chemically modified derivative of β-cyclodextrin, where hydroxypropyl groups are introduced to enhance water solubility and reduce crystallinity.
Compared with β-cyclodextrin, HPβCD offers significantly higher solubility, lower toxicity, and improved complexation ability, making it ideal for pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmetics, and chemical formulations.
Its hydrophobic inner cavity and hydrophilic outer shell allow it to form inclusion complexes with a broad range of hydrophobic molecules, improving stability, solubility, taste, and delivery performance.
